Here are some of the questions asked this month:
"What is this rash on me?
it started about 2 weeks ago, just a red bump on me, didn't think much of it, but then it started getting more and more irritated, now actually, it's more like a cluster of little circular scabs, only about the size of my thumb on the side of my stomach, it stings when i touch it, and there's red itchy areas around it. i've been putting tea tree oil on it since yesterday, and the scabs are starting to dry up, and if i touch them or something sometimes one breaks off, and and tiny pin prick of yellow pus comes out. should i be worried? it's not been getting any bigger, but it doesn't seem to be going away."
Answer:
Hope it is improving - I think that you are on the right lines with T-tree. It is impossible to tell properly without seeing it, but it sounds like a viral rash - could be a type of herpes virus - cold sore type virus possibly, or a pox virus.
Another possibility is shingles, but this is usually over a wider area, but on one side of the body only, in a kind of segment or band across the stomach. Shingles can also be painful, and the pain often starts before the rash. T-tree would be helpful for this also.
If it is still there, I would suggest going along to the chemist, or ideally the doctor, to see if he / she can give you a proper diagnosis. Hope this helps. |
